Carmen Waugh fue la fundadora del galerismo en Chile y una destacada promotora e impulsora de artistas en redes nacionales e internacionales de artes visuales. Su labor fue fundamental en el desarrollo de la visualidad y la puesta en valor de la identidad cultural de Chile como de América Latina, siendo una figura clave en la creación de espacios y museos que aportaron a los procesos polÃticos y culturales del continente.
La Fundación Carmen Waugh se dedica a preservar y difundir su legado a través de diversas iniciativas, siendo su principal instrumento el Archivo Digital; con el objetivo de fomentar la generación de conocimiento, la investigación y la difusión de un perÃodo histórico significativo, con el propósito de aportar a la memoria cultural de Chile y América Latina.
